Nadine started off her career working in a school setting, catering for children with challenging behaviours and complex needs and this is where she found her calling.
Working in this field is something she always wanted to do, in fact, Nadine completed her degree in health and social care and also obtained her level 3 diploma required to work with children.
For the past ten years Nadine worked with children who have learning difficulties, focusing on supporting mainly children with autism for the last six years.
In 2016 Nadine also worked as a nanny to two severely autistic boys, progressing a year later to work in residential care for autism and challenging and complex needs for the length of three years – before starting to work for 5ab Care in 2020.Her favourite aspect of the job is that everyday is different, she thoroughly enjoys the new challenges and the small successes. Nadine likes to see an independent skill come together in young adults, seeing progress is what pushes her to do what she does.
Nadine’s end goal is to support children and ensure they have the right tools and awareness needed to make the right decisions when they are adults.
Outside of work Nadine loves to play netball, going to the gym and walking her dog. She is quite an active person and enjoys being outdoors.
Nadine believes the company’s values are very similar to how she believes a child should be cared for. Her favourite aspect of 5ab Care is that the organisation is all about supporting, nurturing and promoting children’s independence.
